Shape-based Method

In this project we are developing methodologies for automatically labeling sulci based on spherical maps of the cortical surface. A statistical shape model of a number of sulcal roots is built on the unit sphere from a training set. The model is then used to search for the location and shape of these sulcal roots on an individual's cortical surface. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Jerry Prince and the image analysis and communications laboratory.
